019 What You Need — 1952

An amoral and unethical free-lance writer hard up for money can’t help but notice wealthy and well-to-do people often spend large sums of money for seemingly mundane items at a local second-hand store. He goes and buys from the shop owner what the shop owner says “he needs”, later finding out they were, in fact, exactly what he needed at a life threatening moment. The free-lance writer realizes the shop owner must be able to see into the future and he is anxious to extort and make money off that fact.
