All About Eve

An apparently worshipful young fan quietly works her way into the household of aging Broadway star Margo Channing. As admiration gives way to ambition, friendships and careers become pieces in the newcomer’s carefully managed ascent.

Its 14 Academy Award nominations tied a record, and it remains the only film to earn acting nominations for four women.

Random House issued the screenplay in hardcover in 1951—the first movie script published that way—and the film joined the National Film Registry in 1990.
