A Bucket of Blood

A timid coffeehouse busboy accidentally kills his landlady’s cat and hides it beneath plaster. When the result is praised as daring sculpture, his hunger for artistic recognition leads to a gruesome new body of work.

Roger Corman completed the film in five days with a budget of about $50,000, using sets left over from another production.

Charles B. Griffith’s screenplay spoofs the beatnik art scene, abstract-art pretension, and the low-budget youth movies Corman was making at the time.
